Founded in 1997 under Interfaith Health Service by Rev. Dr. Damon Laaker.

Only stand alone grassroots nonprofit in Nebraska to win a National Award from the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for Innovation in Health and Wellness

Mission: Promote education, health and well being for Latino parents and children; provide two-way cultural exchange and learning for participants and volunteers

Programs include: Exercise, Sewing, Micro-business, Youth mentoring, Academic support, Art, and other services based on identified and documented needs of participants themselves

Partners include: Elementary schools, universities, colleges, health providers, churches and community organizations

Volunteers include students from Creighton University, Nebraska Methodist College, The University of Nebraska Omaha, The University of Nebraska Lincoln, South High School, Bryan High School, Central High School, Creighton Prep and Marian High School

Annual Budget: $158,000; low overall budget is possible because In-Kind donations of programming spaces, office sites, technology, volunteers and internships which comprise approximately 50% of organization’s structure.
